Continuing our push for
a Community Hub for Balnarring
The committee and members of the community are continuing to advocate for a community space for the people of Balnarring and surrounds, and working hard to provide great experiences for anyone wishing to participate.
It been 5 ½ months since we were told we needed to relocate from the Pop In Hub in Balnarring Village to a new space.
We have been able to use at the Balnarring Hall and Presentation Family Centre and continue to explore all venue options. We are so grateful for the hub facilitators who have been able to continue to offer activities such as yoga, choir, parent’s group, salsa and meditation despite the challenges.
Hiring the two rooms at the back of hall is a temporary arrangement and currently costing the hub committee in council fees making this not financially sustainable long term. The road to securing our very own premises may take time. But, we believe in it, we’re energised, and we’re in for the long haul!
We’re calling on the community to help us as well. If you have any skills you could offer we would be very grateful – grant applications, advocacy expertise, administration, branding, or know of any places that we may be able to call home, please get it touch!
As Helen Keller – author, disability rights advocate, political activist and lecturer – once said,” Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
